History of our Congregation
In 1984, the American Lutheran Church (ALC), along with Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wasilla, saw a need for another ALC
church between Palmer and Wasilla. Our first Pastor was called in the fall
of 1985 and on February 2, 1986 our first service was held. On
November 8, 1987 the church was offically formed and the name Trinity
Lutheran was chosen.

Due to the economic recession of the 1980's, TLC was offered the
Colony Barn Plaza in exchange for payment of back taxes. We accepted
the building in 1991 and also purchased adjacent lands. In 1994, Trinity
Barn Plaza, as it was renamed, was refocused as a place for ministry with
a special emphasis on youth and their families. The Dorothy Saxon Youth
Shelter, Alaska Children's Choir, TLC Child Development Center, Mat-Su
Services for Children and Adults mail center for mentally/physically
disabled people, Mat-Su Youth Football Association, Athenaeum School,
Boys and Girls Club and Boy Scouts are among some of the many groups
who have used our building.

We have recently decided to redirect our ministry, to sell the Trinity Barn
and to use our resources to build a new facility from which to do Christ's
work.
